In these tightly interwoven structures of real trombone sounds and trombone-like electronic sounds the idea of glissando plays a crucial role. The possibility of creating continuously sliding pitches is characteristic for the trombone. This technique is extended in the electronics at a microscopic level: the partials slowly drift apart or converge, creating thus inharmonic sounds which resemble bells or gongs. The bright magnificence of the trombone sound interacts with more complex, gloaming lights.
